I'm a bit of a planner, so since I'll be hosting a pink & gold themed party in May, preparations had to be done eight months in advance. In my defense, that time will pass in the blink of an eye.
Anyway, I've been collecting small glass bottles for said party. I was thinking of using them for holding small posies, leaving some bottles clear and painting others gold. That's when I got a brilliant idea. Or I probably saw it on Pinterest and then suddenly remembered it. I could balance out the clear and gold bottles by adding some gold glitter to the clear ones. Genius, right?! So here's my little tutorial on how to do this:
What you'll need:
-Glass bottles
-Mod podge
-Painter's tape (or something comparable)
-Glitter
-A tray or pan to catch extra glitter
1. Using the painter's tape, section off the part of the bottle that you want glittered.
2. Painting in between the tape, use the mod podge to cover the glass you just sectioned off.
3. Sprinkle the glitter over the mod podge-covered glass until completely covered in glitter.
4. Let dry for 2 hours.
5. Once the mod podge has dried, tap the bottle against the tray or pan to shed any excess glitter.
6. Peel tape off and you're done!
Pretty easy, right?! And they will look adorable at my pink & gold party!
